Jana K. Starr is an assistant principal for the Fayetteville Public Schools. During her 25-year career in education, she has served as a teacher, library media specialist, assistant principal, and principal in various schools in the state of Arkansas.
Jana holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Henderson State University and a Masters in Library and Information Science from University of Central Arkansas. She also completed certifications in Reading and Educational Administration.
Jana is passionate about the children of Arkansas. She has served them through her civic and church activities with the Nashville Junior Auxiliary and First Baptist Church in Nashville, AR. She was appointed by Governor Mike Huckabee to the Arkansas Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board where she served for five years, including one year as chairman.
She continues her commitment to serving our community in organizations such as the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, Arkansas Right to Life, Ducks Unlimited, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is a member of Cross Church in Rogers, AR and sings in the choir.
She has long served the Republican party. Jana served as the Howard County Chair Coordinator for Mike Huckabee for Lieutenant Governor and Governor. She was elected as an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2008.
Jana Starr is the mother of two grown daughters, Courtney Starr, an attorney, and Amber Starr, a software manager, and a first-time grandmother to Blakely, 18 months old.
